AS A TEACHER
My ultimate goal as a teacher is to create a space where every student feels valued, encouraged, and free to express themselves authentically. By fostering a fun, bright, and energetic learning environment, I aim to inspire students to pursue their goals in music education with passion and determination. I value the balance between light-heartedness and effective teaching, ensuring that students feel comfortable while still achieving their musical goals. I encourage students to take risks, experiment with their musicality, and develop a strong foundation in music theory, technique, and performance skills. Through this balanced approach, students can grow both as musicians and as individuals.
AS AN ARTIST
My musical journey began at the age of six with piano lessons, and it was during this time that I discovered I had perfect pitch - a useful little ability that ultimately became the catalyst to falling in love with music. As a high school student, I ventured into singing and eagerly seized every opportunity to perform at school assemblies, youth groups, and even family weddings. Over the years, my musical style has evolved and expanded to encompass a range of genres. While contemporary voice is at the core of my artistic expression, I have eagerly delved into the realms of jazz, classical, and the captivating world of music theatre—the genre that resonates with me the most.
During my studies at the Australian Institute of Music, I was fortunate to receive training with esteemed industry professionals such as Jennifer Murphy, Penny Martin, and Beth Daly. Beyond my academic pursuits, I have been privileged to grace the stage in numerous theatrical productions across Sydney. Notable highlights include "A Chorus Line" (2019), "Bells Are Ringing" (2022), "Footloose" (2022), and "Be More Chill" (2020), the latter of which earned me a nomination in the Broadway World Regional Sydney Theatre Awards for "Best Actor in a Musical."
